Missions: Bologna Italy

On October 24, we were blessed to have long time friends Cas and Mary Jane Casablanca at our services. While here, Cas and Mary Jane provided a discussion on their current activities as missionaries in Bologna, Italy. We were also given insite to their lives as followers of Christ over the many years and they are truly an inspiration to all of us. Our church endorses their activities and will help with their needs as missionaries and encourage our members to help where they can.

If you would like to get in touch with Cas and Mary Jane for any reason (prayers, support or just wondering what they are up to), you can reach them through email at: twocasablancas@yahoo.com or call them at: 11-29-051-632-1457 (this is their number in Italy).

  News Letters from the Casablancas:

May 19, 2007
So wrote Solomon many centuries ago. We’ve experienced every season and lots of activity since moving to Italy 16 months ago.

April 21, 2007
He is risen! The joyful message of Easter was heard once again as we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus in both English and Italian. We celebrated Resurrection Day at Nuova Vita and then spent a quiet day just reflecting on all that the Lord has done for us lately.

Februrary 2, 2007
On February 6 we celebrate our first year in Italy. It doesn’t seem so long ago that we were saying our last goodbyes and learning to say “buon giorno” instead. The Lord has certainly been faithful in guiding, providing, protecting, teaching and sustaining as we’ve settled into the ministry here.

Missions: South Asia

Once again we were honored have John Boyd visit us. John has been a misisonary in South Asia for some time now and everytime you get to meet with him, there is always something he has to say that just astounds you (as evidenced in his testimony). To hear the talk that John gave, click on the following link to access the streaming audio file. At the end of his talk, he provided a short video clip on the South Asia Team. If you would like to see it, click on the following South Asia Team Video .

Below you will find an email sent from John after his visit with us.

John Wrote: The show must go on! Congratulations on your new worship space. Innovation and flexibility are keys to advancing the kingdom and Tapestry is on top of it. I never pictured myself sharing my testimony from the stage of a murder mystery. But there I was, and I enjoyed every minute with you all. It was like coming home - not because of the couch and fireplace, but because of you. There were some new faces and many old friends as well. Thanks for joining with me in my work among the unreached of South Asia.

Please send me a quick e-mail if you are currently not receiving The RICKSHAW or update me with your latest e-mail address. The RICKSHAW will help you to pray for us with insight and you will also find simple instructions on how you can sow in to our work financially as the Lord leads. Write me at jwboyd@asia.com.

Missions: South Africa

Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2006 provided us with another one of those wonderful, inspiring events in our lives. We were honored with the presence of Peter Black, our sponsored missionary from South Africa. Peter offered insite into their works in South Africa and it seems he has his whole family involved (through the grace of God). Take the time to listen to his spoken words in our streaming audio file.

This past summer we took on an effort to take up a collection of clothes, school supplies and various other necessities to support his missions effort. Talking about a little going a long way, just listen to what Peter has to say. Peter also had many pictures taken while the clothes and supplies were being passed out. Click here to view those pictures.

We never realize how fortunate we are until we hear stories like those that Peter has to tell us. We can be thankful for just knowing Peter but we can do more than that. If would like to further his efforts there in South Africa, contact him for available options and needs. If you would like, you can donate financially through Tapestry Church and we'll see that he receives the offerings. Peter's contact information is shown to the right. Monetary offerings generally serve his missions more effectively due to of all the red tape involved in trying to export goods into his country. We saw this first hand in the collections we took up this summer.
