When will this end? What will life look like on the other side? How are we to respond with so many mixed signals, speculation and misinformation? These and other questions are at the forefront of our minds right now. Thankfully, progress is being made and there is a flickering light at the end of this tunnel. As we continue to press through this pandemic, it’s important to remember that God is focused far more on the journey than He is the destination. The destination for followers of Christ is set, secure and unalterable. We will spend an eternity with Him free of sin, free of sickness, free of sorrow, tears and fears. The journey, on the other hand, is, to a great degree, in our hands. We choose the attitude we carry through each day, we choose to love, to serve, to sacrifice, to put others first. We choose to grow and go deeper in these uncertain days or to be frozen in fear or dominated by distraction. God uses the journey to shape us, mold us and make us into the image of His Son, so when we reach the destination it won’t be so foreign to us. Press on church!
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV)
