I read a legitimate article today that featured this quote from a group of Israeli scientists,
“We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer.”
A stunning statement that offers much needed hope for those suffering from the dreaded disease and their loved ones. But what about those who have already lost their battle or are in the final stages? Hope for them no longer lies in a solution this side of heaven but in a risen savior residing there. The reality is, unless Jesus returns in our lifetime, none of us gets out of this thing alive. We all need hope! Hope for today and beyond the grave! Join me this Sunday as we discover that hope in a verse by verse journey through the book of 1 Peter.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you…”
1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)
